Great essay, Jadi. I have to say I’ve never read Philip Roth. Now I see that there is no need to.
I’ve read a fair amount of Roth and he became famous by writing well – and using his talent to deride, provoke, and announce how great he is. There are so many better writers to spend your hours with.

I have never been a huge Philip Roth fan. Still, I am so very disappointed in him!
Some authors can’t write about women without making them appear ridiculous, but his attack on Anne Frank was so personal.
