We’ve reached Installment #33 of my blog thread describing what to call groups of animals … See how many you can guess. Answers listed at the bottom of the page.
- How did the farrow fare?
- The ballet performed a water ballet.
- Oh, no! The piddle piddled again!
- The rumpus caused quite a rumpus.
- The circus is no circus.
- The brace braced itself against the leash’s leash.
- Farrow of piglets
- Ballet of swans
- Piddle of puppies
- Rumpus of baboons [1]
- Circus of puffins
- Brace (2), or leash (3) of dogs [2]
NOTES: [1] Hooray! Baboons are listed as “Least threatened”. I am overjoyed when I can list a species as not about to go extinct. African Wildlife Foundation [2] A brace refers to 2 dogs. A leash of dogs is 3 in number. © Jadi Campbell 2017. All photos © Uwe Hartmann. To see more of Uwe’s animal photos and pics from our trips go to viewpics.de. Jadi, for some reason I could not comment on your latest post “Let it Rain” so I am doing it on this one instead. I viewed the post on Monday, March 23rd. You mentioned on the post that “Everyone was happy.” That included me after I saw the stunning photos and the great narrative. It was the best thing that happened all day and I’m not just saying that because we’re now confined to our house with Oregon’s lockdown……Thanks for the post.
Well I am really happy to read this (despite my dismay at the way WordPress keeps f**king up when my readers respond)! The times feel so somber and it’s important to remind one another that there is a world of beauty and joy out there. Like what I experienced after the wettest hike I’ve ever done: Everyone was happy. If my story and Uwe’s photos helped you and yours in any way, that means I achieved my hopes for the post. Stay safe, stay well. We will get through this together. —Jadi
Entertaining as always! Why don’t I know any of these? I assume the person on the bench is a dog walker – I hate to think what would happen if one decided to misbehave!
Yay Marilyn that your comment got through the WP programming walls! That dog walker is some kind of wizard dog whisperer. I had never seen that many dogs being walked at the same time.
They’re having a great time. Maybe I should post a video on my blog.
P.S. This is the comment that has been hard to post.
Montréal has gone to the dogs! Well-behaved dogs!
How does she keep all those leashes from getting tangled up?
I have no idea. Magic? By the way, this is the first time I’ve tried to comment on your blog without receiving that weird notification that I’d have to download a file first, which I always declined. So that’s good!
FINALLY. I hope this solution allows readers to interact more with my blog!
Great choices. At the moment we have a leash of dogs. We’ll be down to a brace on Wednesday when one goes home.
Are the three dogs friends?
